Over Rate Pts Deductions
This season, points deductions for slow over rates are being levied on a weekly basis, so all Clubs get an up-to-date picture.
1st XI Captains are reminded that if they think there are extenuating circumstances for their tardiness, an allowance stating the number of extra minutes
must be agreed with the Umpires at the post-match meeting before the sheet is signed off. If no extra allowance is noted on the sheet, the appropriate
points deduction will be levied as per to Rule 15.
Note that Alderley Park have had their pts deduction vs Romiley re-instated, the sheet was unclear but Umpire has confirmed the extra allowance!
Also, Cholmondeley have had one of their deducted points vs Barrow reinstated after clarification by the Umpires.

Extra Drinks Breaks in hot weather
There has been some confusion regarding whether or not to allow extra minutes for additional drinks breaks during the recent
hot weather.
It has now been confirmed that, as per MBCCL League Match Rule 15, the 2hrs 45mins innings time allowed for 45 overs is inclusive of only one drinks break. Additional
breaks for everyone or just for a batsman should be noted on the match sheet along with the number of minutes taken.

Officials EMail Addresses
Following problems where some email addresses have been subject to Spam emails, all addresses on this site have been re-coded to
improve the site's resilience to automated web crawlers which hunt for email addresses to target with spam.
The intention is to change the Addresses for the League Officials this week (4th-10th July) so they can start afresh.
The links on this site will be updated when the addresses on our ISP are changed.
Please watch this space and use the links on this site to send emails to Officials.

2nd XI Results
Once again, we ask 2nd XI Captains to let us have your results asap, so we can get the Websites up to date, otherwise we'd have to wait for all the sheets
to turn up at Graham B's (Friday or Saturday following the games!)
Please Email to either of our special addresses
or
or Text to either 07960 851410 or 07752 239187.
Any one of the above will do, but don't forget to send in your Sheets as well (the Sheet is the only official record of the result!)
Special thanks to Barry Bishop of the MBCCLUA for the Text numbers & extra Email address.
Please note that due to (some of) the shortcomings of the Play-Cricket system, 2nd XIs that input their results onto that system rather than letting us know via
the methods noted above, are actually making extra work for us rather than easing our burden!!
Please use the methods described above. Thank you.

Overseas Players
Info updated 07/04/10. Click on the link below.
New legislation introduced in 2009 makes it much more difficult for non EU nationals and those not in possession of UK passports to enter the country.
The UK Border Agency are threatening to take a much tougher line in 2010 and prosecutions are expected! Given that ignorance of the Law is no excuse, the
League do not want any of our Clubs to be on the wrong end of a hefty fine. We have checked the latest information with the League Cricket Conference, who have
been monitoring the situation.

Alf Heywood
It is with regret that we inform you that Alf Heywood died last night (22 March) in Wythenshawe Hospital after a long but positive fight against cancer.
Alf was 60 years of age and had been associated with Hale Barns Cricket Club for 50 years joining them as a junior of the age of 10.
As a more than useful left arm opening bowler he played for Hale Barns for a number of years and latterly in his playing career captained the 2nd X1.
He was a committee member for almost 40 years and was a life member of the Club.
Alf was an early member of the Umpires Association joining in the mid 1980s and went on to become a respected senior umpire.
Although remaining a member of the panel he was not able to stand for the last few years due to ill health.
He was however a regular attendee at Association meetings and served as barman at Hale Barns for umpires gatherings there including training courses.
He will be sadly missed.

Statement issued by MBCCL & Mere CC
‘Following a number of complaints received about Mere CC during the 2009 season, it has been decided that
at least one umpire (preferably 2) will be appointed to all Mere 2XI games (home and away)
Where one umpire is appointed Mere 2XI will pay that umpires expenses.
Where two umpires are appointed to stand, their expenses will be paid in the usual way.’
