Alvanley blitz Stockport bowling to win 1st XI T20

With the first attempt to play the 1st XI T20 final washed out on Sunday 6th, the teams returned to Barnton in much better weather on the 13th. Under the Rules of the Competition, the match was replayed from the start, this time with Alvanley batting first. Alvanley's batsmen were soon into their stride and the runs mounted up at a good rate. Dave Shewring made a superb 97 and Andy Bennion a powerfully-struck 54 as Alvanley stormed their way to 199 for 3 from their 20 overs, a daunting total.
Having scored >200 on the same ground the previous day, Stockport came out to bat determined to play their shots, but wickets fell steadily as Stockport strove in vain to challenge the target, finally being dismissed for 131 with 7 balls left.
Congratulations to Alvanley on their success.

Northwich win 2nd XI T20 final

On a gloomy Sunday at Barnton, Northwich ran out winners of the 2nd XI T20 final, restricting Stockport to just 92 for 9 from their 20 overs before going on to score 96 for 4 to win by 6 wickets.
Congratulations to Northwich on their second cup success in the last 3 seasons and commiserations to Stockport who have had a great season on the field and came so close to doing Cup & League (Div B) double.
