The Squash Section boasts two private centrally-heated courts, open to members only, which can be considered to be the
best-maintained in the county. The court walls have been recently replastered and the floors on both courts were replaced only
a couple of years ago.
The next development proposed is the enlargement of the changing room facilities to cope with the recent increase in section
membership.
The section fields four mens and two ladies teams competing in the North West Counties Squash League - click on the NWCSL logo

Our 25th Anniversary season proved to be our most successful ever, with promotions for the mens 1st and 2nd teams as well as
the ladies 1st team. This current season sees our 1st team in a strong position to win back-to-back promotions to Division 1.
A remarkable achievement considering the fact that the NWCSL is viewed as the most competitive League in the country. To put this
into perspective, it was only 8/9 years ago that the mens 1st team were in Division 4, so this provides an indication of the
progress made by the section in recent years.
As a result of our success, we continue to attract high-calibre players to the Club, enabling us to reinforce our current position.
This season alone, there are 4 new players in the mens, 3 of whom have represented our 1st team. The ladies have also recruited
2 new team players. We now have a base of around 90 members - a doubling of membership since 2002. Any prospective new members
can contact either Jon Hobley or Klair Blake (see contact details below) to enquire about joining.
Other notable recent successes have been John Thompson representing and captaining the Cheshire Mens Over 35 team. Cheryl Tucker
has been selected to play for the Cheshire ladies 2nd team and Ged Shields has qualified as a Tournament grade referee and is
responsible for the coordination of referees for the County.
Our Junior Section continues to flourish under the auspices of our registered junior coaches Carl Adamson and Harry Hardy.
This season they have also been very ably assisted by Ged and Joel Shields. Junior coaching takes place every Saturday morning
between 9:30 and 12:30. Any Juniors interested in playing can simply turn up any Saturday morning to join in.
The section also enters 2 teams in the NWCSL Summer League (a more social and relaxed competition) which usually runs over a
10 week period shortly after the end of the Winter League season.
For many years the section has also entered the annual Cheshire Cup and Challenge Cup knock-out competitions.
The section also runs a Club Night every Sunday night from 6:30 to 8:00pm which attracts players of all abilities. This can be
a good introduction to the Club for any new or aspiring members.
